DraftKings launches retail sports betting at Wrigley Field

DraftKings has unveiled retail sports betting services at Wrigley Field in Illinois, offering eligible customers aged 21 and above the opportunity to place bets on various markets through 32 betting kiosks and seven over-the-counter betting windows.

The sportsbook features offerings such as same-game parlays and in-game betting.

To commemorate the launch, former Chicago Bears player Kyle Long (pictured) placed a ceremonial bet of $100 on the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series, marking the official opening of the sportsbook.

Levy, the food and beverage provider at the venue, offered Chicago hot dogs for $1 from 4-6pm to celebrate the occasion.

DraftKings has recently introduced a new tool called ‘My Stat Sheet’ aimed at promoting responsible gaming practices among its customers. This tool enables players to track and assess their personal gaming statistics,casinos online facilitating informed decision-making about their gameplay.

In addition to launching retail sports betting at Wrigley Field, DraftKings has expanded its online sportsbook presence into North Carolina in partnership with NASCAR. The company aims to offer diverse betting options while prioritising responsible gambling practices.

DraftKings is also actively participating in Problem Gambling Awareness Month, collaborating with organisations like the National Council on Problem Gambling to raise awareness about responsible gaming and provide resources to customers.

The expansion of DraftKings' operations into Illinois and North Carolina follows its launches in Vermont and Ontario and its acquisition of Jackpocket, a digital lottery app.
